About
Leila Sanderson was born within spittin’ distance of the Major Oak, Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire in the United Kingdom.
She was born into a family of pie makers, shopkeepers, healers, traders & debt collectors. She spent her formative years living in an ex-mining town called Ilkeston where the locals greeted each other with: “hey up ‘me duck ya ‘rate?” and the women folk fought in the town square of a night! She attended a Rudolf Steiner School, then two local colleges before running away to Art School in London at age 19.
Life in the Big Smoke was supported by working as a Maitre’d and after meeting and marrying an Australian Chef she moved to Melbourne in 1999. Her work in restaurant land lasted until 2009 (the husband didn’t!). Since then she’s been under the employ of landscaper and furniture maker Greg Hatton and partner, florist Katie Marx. And now the Skinny Wolf adventure begins….
